The Al Aqsa Teens @ WSD 2021 World Children's Day

I was privileged to have met Ghada Abdalrahman (left) last month.

And not only that but she kindly introduced me to students of Al Aqsa Integrated School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – where she is a tutor.

What’s great was that after I had told her about World Speech Day – she went out to get me six registrations for WSD 2021 World Children’s Day.

The teens come from six different countries, i.e. India, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Egypt and Jordan:

I must confess that all of them were articulate and even better, convincing with their speeches. Besides, their topics were interesting too. Truly, I enjoyed their speeches.

Thank you, Ghada!

Indeed, we would love to have them and others participate in World Speech Day events in 2022.

Indonesians @ WSD 2021 World Children's Day

CV+ participated in the English Conversation Club activities led by Erna Widiati, a fellow WSD member from Indonesia.

It's good that we are able to support them. Both Cyril and I can unreservedly tell you that we thoroughly enjoyed the sessions!

We have Erna (right) to thank for because through her, we had nine members who participated in our WSD 2021 World Children’s Day on Saturday.

These kids come from all over the country such as Pangkal Pinang, Tanjung Pandan, Batam, Kota Bekasi and Jakarta:

On a separate note, we had a tenth Indonesian participant from Kuta Utara in Bali:

Thank you, Indonesia!

Cuteness Overload

World Speech Day is always a revelation.

And WSD 2021 World Children’s Day is no different. This time around, we had really very young participants. Three 3-year-olds and yet, they are more than ready to speak.

For a cuteness overload, check them out here:

As always, we saw a good mix of speakers and they embraced a diverse range of topics from mental health, climate emergency and the Covid pandemic to poverty, gender equality and acts of kindness.

Indeed, speech is power: speech is to convince, to convert, to compel.

And methinks, only World Speech Day provides the stage for everybody and anybody to speak. Unexpected voices that come together to educate, to elucidate, to enlighten.
