A Date with Us in Melaka

Keep a date with us in Melaka on March 15, 2020. 

That’s because we will be celebrating World Speech Day there. Besides, Kuala Lumpur and Penang. 

CV+ are joining hands with World Speech Day (Singapore) to bring this public speaking event to historic Melaka. A chance for you to speak and get your voice heard! 

After all, Mohammed Qahtani, 2015 Toastmasters’ Public Speaking champion – I met him in Penang in May 2017 – has this to say: “Words have power, words are power, words could be your power”.

Targeting the Filipino Community

This year, at World Speech Day, we saw 8 Filipinos resident in Malaysia taking part in our inaugural event in Kuala Lumpur. 

In recognition of that, I have developed 2 posters especially targeted to this community. Certainly, I am hoping even more Filipinos will take part in next year’s edition of World Speech Day!

On the spur of the moment, I had created four additional WSD posters. 

One for World Speech Day Singapore and the other for World Speech Day Mongolia.

The Mongolia posters are for Ganchimeg Zagdaa, a good friend who is also a Toastmaster in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I had fortuitously met her when I was in Singapore in March this year when Cyril Jonas and I traveled there to meet the people of World Speech Day (Singapore).

We're all Toastmasters and we're involved in this exciting event called World Speech Day, a day that is truly dedicated to public speaking.

WSD: A Speaking Phenomenon

A global event. A day that brings you speeches and speechmaking.

Yes, March 15 is World Speech Day and it is celebrated in towns and cities in 103 countries.

In 2020, Malaysia itself will witness this speaking phenomenon. In three locations. In Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Melaka. 

Since this year, Malaysians have embraced this public speaking occasion – with eagerness, enthusiasm and excitement. 

Speak because it improves upon the silence. Speak because the heart tells you to. Speak because it empowers.

May I strongly suggest you to mark this date on your calendar – so you too can experience this once-a-year event?
