Toastmasters Flock to WSD-KL

Toastmasters too flocked to WSD-KL and it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

After all, Toastmasters embrace public speaking – and World Speech Day is a public speaking event.

Besides, the organizers of WSD-KL are Toastmasters – and we are glad Toastmasters came to challenge themselves to speak on a public platform. We rightly tell them to step out of their comfort zone, i.e. their club environment – and speak in public.

At a WSD Event – we believe we can make a difference through the power of speech.

As Margaret Mead says: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has”.

Indeed! “He who wants to persuade should put his trust not in the right argument, but in the right word. The power of sound has always been greater than the power of sense” (Joseph Conrad).

Ralph Waldo Emerson sums it best: “Speech is power. Speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel. It is to bring another out of his bad sense into your good sense”.

See you at WSD-KL 2020! “The world is waiting for your words” (Arvee Robinson).

Balsans Creative Kidz in Action @ WSD-KL 2019

Rathippriyah Balsan and her students from Balsan Creative Kidz too came for WSD-KL 2019 with parents in tow – and it was amazing to see 5-year- to twelve-year olds speaking on a big topic that was World Citizenship:

Filipinos @ WSD-KL 2019

We had seven Filipinos registered for WSD-KL 2019 and for those who put down their names to speak for 3 to 5 minutes, we were told this was the first time they tried public speaking!

We salute them for their initiative and their courage!

At World Speech Day – Kuala Lumpur, everyone can speak!

Speakers from SMK Subang Utama

The contingent from SMK Subang Utama, Subang Jaya in Selangor @ WSD-KL 2019 – all the students spoke. I daresay I was dazzled by their oratorical skills:

The twelve students were led by their English teacher, Jacob Mathew (far left), whom I know is a solid pillar of selfless dedication.

KPP Participants Speak with Passion

We had eleven participants from Kelab Pidato Perdana and the ten speakers really impressed me with their excellent delivery skills – a sample of photos of their speakers:
