The Power of Words and Update 10

When we speak, we use words.

And in public speaking, it is important to pick the right words in order to get your point across clearly.

Indeed, there is incredible potential in the words we use to communicate, to convey our ideas and to connect with the people we are speaking to. That’s because words have power.

As author Yehuda Berg states, “Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity… Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble”.

I agree. I put it this way:

The words we choose and how we choose to use them can build others up or bring them down; they can cement a community or cleave it apart.

When we acknowledge the power our words have, we will surely see the impact they can have to those who are listening.

Words. Are. Powerful.

WSD 2021 Speeches on YouTube: Update 9

Public speaking is the act of presenting an idea to the public, utilizing your voice.

Many people use their voice everyday – to talk to people, to communicate their needs and wants – but the idea of 'voice' delves much deeper. Having a voice gives an individual agency and power, and a way to express his or her beliefs and passions.

Know that using your voice is the best way to ignite change. This is how you express your convictions and positions and push for the change that you want to see in the world.

And we happily provide you a stage – World Speech Day.

This is the third year, CV+ are hosting World Speech Day in Malaysia – therefore, we must encourage you to take the opportunity to speak when we have a WSD event because we give you that opportunity!

[Note: Keep a lookout for our upcoming events in this blog or wsd-kl.blogspot.com or on our Facebook page @ WSD-Kuala Lumpur].
